Beautiful Brooklyn .....Bridge

My visiting friend and me came back from the impressive 9/11 memorial. Wanted to take a bus to have dinner in the east village. Just missed it at the Seaport Bus Station. What to do? We both had our cameras with us. So we went to the waterfront..... and where so much into taking pictures that we missed at least four more busses.

From here Downtown is pretty

... as is Chinatown. I cycle here most mornings (sometimes via the river). Today I have a view from the Manhattan Bridge. The beautiful buildings in the front. The Skyline of Downtown. Gee, I will miss these views. But this one... I got it!

The Last Hurrah

February 28, I had to hand over my apartment in The Ludlow. What time I had there. So after the handover we went to the rooftop to have a last look. And what look it was!

This was one of my first pictures of the North Brooklyn Boat Club! When I coincidentally dropped by at a fundraising party. Which was great. This is the B-side of the event. But much needed prior to my bike ride home.

NBBC, The amazing North Brooklyn Boat Club Wer nicht auf dem Wasser war in New York hat die Stadt nicht gesehen. Das Kanu ist für mich die ansprechendste, die intimste Art die Stadt vom Rande zu beobachten. Zumal mit netten Leuten beim North Brooklyn Boat Club. Die auch ihr Handwerk bei den Touren verstehen. Hatte ich auch noch nicht: Auf dem Fluss muss man Gezeiten beachten. Der Bootsverkehr ist kein Spaß. Stehende Wellen? Haben wir auch. Und die Skyline? Ist hier im Preis inkludiert!

Fall in Manhattan. Central Park, ja es sind Touristen da. Außerdem New Yorker. In der Tat. Leer ist er nicht. Und ca. in der Mitte gibt es mehrere Teiche. Gerade bei Sonnenuntergang bin ich gerne da!

The other windows were too crowded

... in Midtown at Christmas Really, I cycled all the way up North of 50th Street, Rockefeller Centre. Incredible. So crowded. Why? Christmas lights etc. is quite ok, some shopping windows are nicely done. But it is also a bit overrated. And some decoration is loud. Noisy. Literally. So no way I could shoot pictures of classical Christmas windows. So I looked around. What else was there. OK, one shop. Showing pictures of a former fashion show. Exuberant. And: nobody in front of me. OK, then I take it. I cannot just turn around and go home without taking any picture.
